visita: La Tesoriera

La Tesoriera

The villa La Tesoriera  (The Treasurer) dates back to the 18th century and stands in the homonimous area of the IV circumscription. The name is due to it owner,  Ayno Ferrero di Cocconato (1663 – 1718), treasurer of the Sabaudian state in Italy. The architect that planned the villa was Jacopo Maggi who took inspiration from Guarino Guarini.
La Tesoriera hides  some mysteries and once was called The Garden of the Devil: a ghost wearing a black  cloak  with red hedge wanders in the nearby country at night and a young woman has been seen  walking through the ancient, elegant halls of the palace for 20 years.
